My wife and I stayed at Porto Scoutari for four nights and it was wonderful. The service was outstanding and the people very friendly. We have had one of the most restful holidays that we have ever had. The Porto Scoutari Hotel is beautifully sitauated, decorated, and appointed; and is run to extremely high standards. We have particularly enjoyed quiet days by the pool with its stunning views to the old town and to the sea. We have visited many Greek Islands over the years, and although Patmos does not have the archaeological sites that we like to visit, it is a very interesting and attractive island. We have loved our week at Porto Scoutari. The room was wonderful; it has all the conveniences: a shower with a glass door; a phone in the bathroom, a hair dryer on the wall. The room was spacious, too. The view from the large balcony was spectacular. We spent many happy hours just sitting there, reading, glorying in the vista including two coves, and white houses dotting the hillsides, plus a herd of goats grazing. Most important, every single person was delightful to deal with: friendly, patient, full of useful information. Mrs. Scoutari is so delightful to talk to, we felt we’d known her forever. Of course we should keep in mind that the island of Patmos as a backdrop helps matters! The rooms are beautifully decorated and the reception area an bar are among the most beautiful I have seen. The service at this hotel outstanding and the staff members are not only friendly, but of superior knowledge. If your travels take you near the Dodecanese Islands of Greece, then you must consider visting the island of Patmos. Though the hotel is not for everyone, those that desire a romantic getaway will fall in love with this paradise on the lovliest island in the Aegean. This is perhaps one of the best hotels if not the best I have ever visited.
